Democracy or something else? Choose

Are we in danger of losing our democracy? Has the people's wishes never counted for anything, that a monarch will yield whatever power that is given him to better himself and his family (in the most corruptible manner) at the expense of the people's welfare!

Interesting to note that this is not the 1st transgression against the rakyat. There has been too many of such transgression, but I will attempt to note a few latest ones
  1. Rakyat of Perak robbed of the opportunity to exercise their democratic right to choose their leader.
  2. Death's of police detainees whilst in police custody
  3. The Rakyat living under the constant threat of ISA if we speak against certain parties, individuals. ISA will not apply should you be affiliated to the correct political party.
  4. The fact that the Rakyat cannot gather peacefully to make a statement of protest against a draconian law.

And the above are just incidences that can be recorded in the last 1 month. Should I decide to have a comprehensive list, I think I will be completely disgusted! And the final analysis - we, the Rakyat is the reason these transgressions have been going on for so long and getting worse! Every election, we vote the same transgressors into power, sending the message that we welcome their transgressions!

When we finally woke up on March 8,things turned and now with some scare tactic we lack the conviction to see through the changes except for a few!

Effectively, we have forsaken our right to chose the leader we want, and allowed ourselves to be governed by fascism! Why do I say that? Please read on

Definition for Fascism (Wiktionary) -
fascism (plural fascisms)
An extreme-right totalitarian political regime ideologically based on centralized government, violently repressing any criticism or opposition of the regime, leader cult and exalting nation-state and/or religion above individual rights. Originally only applied (usually capitalized) to Benito Mussolini's Italy.
By vague analogy, any system of strong autocracy or oligarchy usually to the extent of bending and breaking the law, race-baiting and violence against largely unarmed populations.

Malaysia's creeping fascism

A Kugan is not the point. His race is not the point. His criminality is not the point. The point is the fundamental function of the democratic process - the total and inviolable separation of enforcement, judgment, and punishment - has been violated.

When police become judges and executioners, you have de facto fascism. It does not matter whom you elect into leadership. If that leadership cannot absolutely guarantee that those whom you turn to for protection will not attack and harm or kill you instead, the said leadership must either resign or be voted out of office. No other issues even matter, if alleged criminals start dying in prison.

The ‘fascism’ crept further in when a former Malaysian police official beat someone up (it doesn’t matter who), until that person had to go all the way to Germany to obtain surgical relief from his severe back pains.

This ‘creeping fascism’ was further welcomed into Malaysian life when the aforementioned police official was given a three-month ‘suspended sentence’, i.e., he did not even go to jail!

This is why no enforcement authority can ever be trusted to ‘self-regulate’. Someone must always monitor enforcement actions from outside. Always. What is Putrajaya's hesitation to form a truly independent police commission?

The incidences that have befallen the rakyat is the reason I say we may lose our democracy should we leave this right un-exercised! I pray that we will be allowed another opportunity come 2012 to exercise our democratic right to choose. God willing, if we are?! I pray that every anak Bangsa Malaysia will come out to vote for righteousness, justice and good governance.

We have been FAILED!

When we expect to be protected by those who were born into positions of responsibility to the rakyat, we are to be dissappointed Yet again!! why? What has made you think that you are above all that is happening in the country?! In one day, my opinion of those who WAS the most highly regarded royal family off all the states.

And to take sides in such a blatant manner! I have to conclude that the family is under the thumb of UMNO!

I firmly believe that we, the rakyat, have to stand for ourselves now! Not an opposition party that has too many skeletons, not a fearful, cowardly royalty & definitely those who ate robbing us blind thru the bureucracy of this country. Anak Bangsa Malaysia, yes all of us, we need to form (1) ONE multiracial party that represents the agenda of Malaysians, not a group of party formed via a coalition

Wat we have now is not representative of where we truly want to progress to as a nation, not the current spilt state we are in now!

At the end of the day, we have to stop relying on anyone else and do wat we need to do by ourselves. So, come on! Our reliance has to stop at one point!

First, let's petition for another election for Perak, can someone tell me how we can do that?!

Can we never Learn!

Why?! Why do we continually make the same mistakes?!

Greed! FEAR!

That's why! That word, greed is the cause of so many malaise that plagues the human kind. And my beloved Malaysia is no exception. With the latest tragedy of Bukit Antarabangsa, we are once again awakened to the wrongs that our council, state constituents and even government has been condoning to in the name of development, and all other reasons which are used as a camouflage for GREED!

We have been a people that are so inconsiderate when it comes to self-gain that we will do most anything. SELF GAIN... another word for GREED!

When will we realise that this quest for progress and self betterment without accountability and responsibility for the good of ALL(even in the absence of governance of law) will only bring us to our destruction. And this moral duty has to be an internal awareness and awakening. There is insufficient law in the world to govern the motives of the heart. And where the motive of the heart is not true to the good to all, then there will be a hazard waiting to happen. And it can turn into a tragedy!

FEAR! to do the right thing. Fear that we will pay the price for righteousness! Why? If every single ordinary rakyat decided to pay the price, there is no government / politicial party / army that can stop us! That is the beauty of democracy! And that is the system that we must decide to enforce for ourselve and our children and the generations to come!
This awakening only comes with mental and emotional maturity of all. It is when the people are matured in mind that we will tell the governing bodies to stop doing things that will harm Malaysia.

With the governing body insisting on progressing the majority of the Malaysian population from walking chair to WHEEL CHAIR, and anyone who dares to take us out is incarcerated thru the use of ISA, what hope to do we have! GREED & FEAR.... is that how we want to be governed?!

Well, we do have hope! In ourselves; to find the strength to do what we know is right. Even when it cost us to do it, let us boldly step up to stand for what is right. Do not let those who dare to start the right process stand alone. Show the world that we are truly a democratic state!
